The Rundown
The Finance Industry is melanin-challenged. According to the Bureau of Labor, 6.9% of Financial Advisers are Black. Representation matters more than ever because when people see Black folk’s success in media for positive financial influences, it uplifts a community and challenges the perception of success.
When I leaped the Financial Planning community, the first thing I Googled was “ Black financial influencers.” I immediately emailed the influencers and asked for their advice. From that experience, I knew that Navigating the Financial Industry as a Black woman would be tough. I failed the CFP coursework but took a leap of faith and decided to Become a Financial Counselor first.
During my Financial planning discovery, I found an extensive list of Black Money experts that lifted my spirit. Due to this post’s brevity, I couldn’t post everyone, but I wanted to highlight a few. Each influencer has a unique identity to bring to the table, and I am happy to share their specialties with you!
