Happy New Year to You!

What are you thinking about getting into this new year? Will it be the same or have you created a new system to get your life right?

Often times we fumble with our resolutions because we run into the same problems of our old selves and old ideas creep in. It makes sense because a new year is a reset, but are we truly changing? Maybe the better question is why are we setting resolutions in the first place? It might make sense for us to look at our lives in the long term. Planning for the year sets up for short term success. Looking at a theme year might be more achievable

The Year of 25 Dates

Having a themed year might work better than setting I must have a fit body.

One of my closest friends in Philly made a New Years goal last year to go on 25 dates. For her it was a way to get to know herself as well as what time of fellah she was interested in. Watching her past the 25 date marks was hilarious, but awe inspiring. Not because she was dating, but because as she started this started journey she past her dates and went past 35. Each date clearly wasn’t a success, but her themed year helped

As the new year embarks on us I keep looking for ways to make a difference in my life and my others.

The Year of Oprah

This year I wanted to focus on being positive despite difficult situations and entering the finance industry. Oprah seems to have at least figured that part out. This year I’m hitting up her book club books, subscripting to her Soul Sunday influencers and seeing where that takes me

This month my focus is on taking the Series 65 and focus on practicing yoga at least once a week.

Most of y’all are wondering what the Series 65 is. It is a test to become a Registered Investment Adviser. When I pass it it, legally says that I can talk to people about investment advice. In the next couple of years my goal is to start a fintech company for women of color. This is just one step in my decade plan to so.

As far as Fitness goes, I’m pretty much an avid gym goer. Even if I walk on the treadmill at a slow pace, I will do that. My goal this year is to practice yoga at least once a week. I’ve already been on a good kick since I started the Bullet Journal in November.
